Farmer of the fairies
Once upon a time, in a quaint village, there lived a remarkable and prosperous farmer. He owned vast, lush fields and employed more than a hundred laborers who toiled tirelessly in his bountiful fields. This farmer was known for his unwavering honesty and dedicated efforts in agriculture. He nurtured his crops with utmost care, ensuring timely irrigation and organic fertilizers. If any disease befell his crops, he would provide them with the appropriate treatment. People eagerly awaited the opportunity to purchase the grains harvested from his fields because they were of exceptional quality.
Through his integrity and hard work, the farmer flourished and became affluent. He had a compassionate heart and always extended a helping hand to the people of his village. He never disrespected anyone who visited his home and made every possible effort to ensure that he never caused anyone sorrow.
One fine day, as the farmer was tending to his fields like every other day, everything seemed to be going exceptionally well. The rains had been generous, and his fields were flourishing, promising a bountiful harvest. The time came when his crops bore abundant grains of the finest quality. The farmer was overjoyed.
However, one night when the farmer returned home from his fields, he was taken aback. The next morning, when he returned to his fields, his heart sank as he discovered that all his grains had vanished overnight. The farmer was deeply distressed and could not comprehend what had transpired.
With a pure heart, he prayed, believing it to be the will of God, and decided to undertake farming once again. The farmer, along with his hundred laborers, tirelessly worked to cultivate the land. Slowly, the crops began to thrive, and once again, the fields were adorned with abundant grains. The farmer's happiness was restored.
But then, one morning, he witnessed the disappearance of the grains again. This time, however, he was more vigilant. He secretly started guarding his fields at night. To his astonishment, he saw a radiant white light descending from the sky, as if stars had descended from heaven. Filled with wonder, he approached his fields cautiously. To his surprise, he saw human-like beings with wings, plucking the grains and filling them into magical chests. Though they appeared tiny in size, these chests could never be completely filled, no matter how much grain was poured into them. With a determined stride, the farmer approached one of the beings and caught hold of it. Instantly, the other beings vanished into the sky.
The being, with human-like form, said to the farmer, "You may release me now. I am a soldier of the Fairy Realm and serve under the Queen of Fairies, Sonpari. I accidentally caught hold of you, but now you know everything. You are forgiven, kind farmer." The farmer, respecting the soldier's words, set him free.
Curious, the farmer asked, "Who are you, and why do you take away my grains?" The soldier chuckled and replied, "We do not steal from your fields, dear farmer. We purchase your grains and take them with us. Your harvest is the finest on Earth because you cultivate it with diligence, devotion, and love. The Fairy Queen herself consumes your grains as a tribute. She will forever exchange her golden tokens for your grains. Keep this as our secret." With these words, the soldier bestowed upon the farmer a magnificent, jewel-filled chest as a gift and advised him to never reveal their connection to anyone.
From that day forward, the farmer never had to sell his crops in the market. He continued to farm with dedication, and every night, his harvest would vanish, only to reappear in his home, accompanied by golden tokens from the Fairy Queen. The
farmer's fields flourished, and he lived a life of abundance and prosperity, all thanks to his unwavering commitment, honesty, and love for his craft.
